Robots do much better than most other investment goods…
While in 2002 the value of market for industrial robots fell
by 8% in the United States, the market for machine tools fell by
as much as 36%. In Japan and Germany the same pattern was
prevailing. Machine tools fell by 32% and 20%, respectively,
while robots “only” fell by 11% and 7%.
In 2003, growth in robot investment again largely surpassed
machine-tool investment.
